Made to Move: Why I Design Reversible Swimwea

Designing swimwear has always been about more than creating something beautiful. For me, it’s about designing pieces that work. Swimwear that moves with you, supports you, and feels just as good at the beach as it does during Pilates or long days in the sun.

From the beginning, Amali has been built around three ideas: movement, confidence, and longevity. Every piece has to feel effortless on the body, last season after season, and carry purpose in its design. That is why I will always design swimwear that is both reversible and active.

The purpose behind reversibility

Reversible swimwear is about more than having two looks in one. It is about choice, value, and intention.

When you can wear one piece in multiple ways, you automatically consume less and get more from what you already own. It encourages thoughtful design and mindful ownership, which is something that has always been important to me as both a designer and a consumer.

I love that a reversible design can feel brand new every time you wear it. Whether you choose a print for something playful or the plain side for something simple, it adapts to your day and your mood.

Designing for movement

Amali was never meant to be swimwear you stand still in. I design for women who move. The ones who swim, surf, stretch, and live in their bikinis all year round.

That is why every style is double lined, fitted with precision, and tested in real conditions. I wear every design myself, in the water, at Pilates, and on the go, to make sure it fits and performs the way it should.

Active swimwear should never restrict you. It should feel like a second skin that holds you with comfort and support, no matter how you move.
